These components are split into two separate testing sessions and may be scheduled on the same day or on different days within the Examination period. The specialty Examination consists of two components: the core component and a specialty component. (Aerospace Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Public Health and General Preventive Medicine) The next Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Exam will be offered in 2022. *Beginning 2021, the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Initial Certification Exam will be offered every other year. Eligible Candidates planning to test outside of the United States should note the country where they plan to test during Examination registration. Eligible candidates who want to take the 2021 Examination must register and pay for the Examination in their ABPM Physician Portal account prior to September 17, 2021. Examinations will also be offered at international Prometric locations specific international locations to be determined. Examinations will be administered via computer-based testing at Prometric Test Centers across the United States. The Examination will be offered 7 days a week, from Monday, October 11 through Sunday, October 31, 2021. The 2021 Initial Certification Examination is a closed-book, multi-choice Examination.
